So, , I’m Matu, I was born in Tombohuaun, though truthfully I don’t know when, you’d have to ask my mother how old I am! I love to laugh and meet new people. We don’t get many visitors to our village but when we do I make sure they feel at home.
Before clean water arrived, life was tough in Tombohuaun. I had serious health problems caused by dirty water and I worried so much about the children. We didn’t want them to drink the dirty water, but we didn’t have a choice.
When the work started to bring water we all got stuck in. We worked with local experts to choose the perfect site, then helped to dig holes and gather stones and sand for the construction.
Now the pump is completed we’re all so much happier and healthier and we’re dedicated to keeping it that way. Together we keep the pump clean and we’re growing extra crops to pay for its maintenance.
It took a community to make this happen, a community that spans the globe. We’re so happy that you’re a part of it.
Welcome to Tombohuaun, , you’re always welcome here!
